The Post-Festive Reset: Recovering After Diwali and Party Season

The festive season in Delhi NCR is a joy — family, lights, sweets, card parties and back-to-back plans. It's also tiring. Many people end it with poor sleep, heavy meals in their system, dry skin from the smoky air and very little energy.
Here's a gentle, realistic reset. No extreme "detox", just getting back to normal.
A note on "detox"
Your liver and kidneys do the real detox work every day. You don't need juice cleanses or expensive powders. What helps is simple: sleep, water, good food, movement and rest. (More in our massage myths article.)
The 7-day reset
Day 1–2: Sleep and water
- Go to bed at a regular time.
- Drink water through the day.
- Eat simple, home-cooked meals.
Day 3: A relaxing massage
Book a 60-minute Swedish or aroma therapy session. It's a clear signal to your body that the rush is over. See massage for stress and better sleep.
Day 4–5: Move again
- A 30-minute walk each day (indoors if the air quality is poor).
- Gentle stretching in the evening.
Day 6: Skin care
Smoke and dry air leave skin dull. Book a body scrub & polish, or exfoliate gently at home and moisturise well. Read pollution and your skin.
Day 7: Plan the season ahead
Wedding season is next. Look at your calendar and protect a few quiet evenings.

Look after your lungs too
