Which Massage Is Right for You? A Simple Guide

Spa menus can be confusing. The good news: you don't need to know the names. You just need to know how you feel. Use this guide to choose — or simply describe it to us when you call.
Start with one question: what do you need today?
"I'm stressed and can't switch off"
Choose Swedish massage or aroma therapy. Gentle, flowing strokes and calming oils help your nervous system settle. Read our aromatherapy guide.
"My shoulders and back are full of knots"
Choose deep tissue. Slow, firm pressure works into tight muscles. See Swedish vs deep tissue.
"I want to relax and feel worked on"
Choose Balinese massage — the best of both. Read what is Balinese massage.
"I feel stiff all over"
Choose Traditional Thai for assisted stretching, or Shiatsu for steady pressure-point work. Both are done in clothing without oil.
"I've been on my feet all day"
Choose foot reflexology. See our reflexology guide.
"I only have 30 minutes"
Choose head, neck & shoulder.
"I train hard"
Choose sports therapy.
"I want something special"
Choose four hand therapy (Sector 29) or the Angkasa Signature ritual (GK-1).
"My skin feels dull and dry"
Choose a body scrub & polish or chocolate cream therapy (GK-1).
Choosing pressure
- Light: you want to relax and drift off.
- Medium: you want to feel the massage without any intensity.
- Firm: you like strong pressure and have tight muscles.
You can always change pressure during the session. Our pressure guide helps you say it.
Choosing duration
- 30 minutes: a targeted area (neck, feet).
- 60 minutes: a full-body massage — the most popular choice.
- 90 minutes: a slower, deeper experience if you have time.
When to choose something gentler
If you're pregnant, recovering from an injury or illness, older, or have a medical condition, tell us. We'll suggest a suitable therapy, and we may ask you to check with your doctor first.
Still unsure? Call any Angkasa outlet and tell us how you feel. That's often the fastest way to the right massage.
